Kruger National
Park
The Kruger National Park,
Africa’s
first wildlife reserve, was established in 1898 to protect
the rapidly decreasing fauna. The national park is South
Africa’s largest, and is unquestionably one of
the best wildlife sanctuaries in the world. This vast
wilderness covers an area of 19 633 sq km, equivalent
in size to Israel or Wales. The Park is home to 147 species
of mammal (including all of the most prestigious African
mammals), 507 of birds, 336 of trees, 49 of fish, 34
of amphibian and 114 of reptile. Bordering the Park are
numerous private game reserves and the animals roam freely
between the Park and these private reserves. Many of
the country’s most famous, up-market wildlife experiences
are offered on these reserves. |

Victoria Falls
The mighty Victoria Falls are
the largest and most spectacular, deserving their place
among
the seven natural wonders of the world. The sound of
the water crashing over the falls and the resulting mist
have given the Falls their Shona name “Mosi-oa-tunya” - “the
smoke that thunders”. Victoria Falls combines awesome
scenery, game viewing and a whole range of adventure
activities. Victoria Falls epitomizes the romance, adventure
and luxury of Africa and rates as one of the continent's

Okavango Delta
Botswana is dominated by two main
geographic features. About 85% of Botswana is comprised
of the Kalahari Desert, a living desert which supports
some of the largest herds of game on the continent. The
second is the Okavango Delta which is dramatically different
to the Kalahari. The Okavango carries 95% of Botswana’s
ground water and is the world’s largest inland
delta. Each summer, floods pour into the Okavango River
and flow on through a vast network of narrow waterways,
lagoons and broad expanses of the Okavango Delta. The
water makes its way through this huge, 10 000 square
kilometres of flood plain and dissipates in the sands
of the Kalahari. The delta experience is totally unique
and offers some of the most prolific and spectacular
wilderness areas and game experiences in Africa, set
in unparalleled scenic beauty. |
