Chobe
| Botswana’s second largest National Park is home to one of the largest surviving continuous elephant populations in the world. These migratory elephants can be found at the Chobe and Linyanti Rivers in the dry season and the pans in the southeast of the park during the rains. They travel in gigantic herds and are known as having the largest body size of all living elephants.
The Park is divided into four areas, each representing different ecosystems. The Serondela area offers sightings of elephant, buffalo and bee-eater drinking from the River. At the Savuti Marsh area, one may spot various buck species and wildebeest during dry seasons and lion, zebra, and hyena during rainy seasons. The Linyanti Marsh has concentrations of leopard, wild dog and hippo as well as other rare species. Finally, the dry hinterland is well-known for eland. As well as being famous for its elephants, the Park is excellent for bird watching, especially between November and March.
