Why to go…Malawi is surrounded by beautiful landscapes from evergreen forests and stunning valleys to rugged mountains and cascading waterfalls. National Parks provide unspoilt settings perfect for viewing a wide range of wildlife and some rare species seen nowhere else in the world. Bird watching is excellent throughout Malawi, which is something of a birdwatcher’s paradise at any time in the year. There are over 650 recorded species. There are plenty of activities to keep tourists busy and these include safari drives and walks, mountain climbing, cycling, fishing, horseback riding, snorkelling and scuba diving. When to go…The warmest time is between November and April. Between May and September, wet mists float from the highlands into the plateaus with almost no rainfall during this time. It is warmest in the low-lying areas, such as Lake Malawi, however with pleasant cooling breezes. The weather is temperate to cool in the highlands. During Winter (May to July), the nights can be chilly and the days dry.
