Liwonde NP
The very popular Liwonde National Park which offers boat safaris along the Shire River, also keeps a wide range of game at hand, including the ‘Big Five’ and a large variety of bird life.
Game commonly spotted here include elephants, water buck and baboons and less commonly sable, kudu and bushbuck. Leopards may be sighted during night drives. Wildlife viewing is better during the dry season (June to August) when the river is lower and hippos and crocodiles are easier to see, and when the larger animals congregate to drink from the river.
