The park is dominated by the Etosha Pan, a large shallow depression of salt and clay. Along the edge of the pan, springs attract large concentrations of wildlife and birds. Water birds often seen here include flamingos and pelicans and mammals include blue wildebeest, red hartebeest, giraffe and various antelope.
